Executives Must Use Their Intuition To Aid Job Searches

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

New tools in technology and market research are making job searches more complicated. Executives today are struggling with how to present their information to stand out in today’s challenging marketplace. Your ability to present your gifts, talents and expertise requires that you tune in to your intuition to shine as the best candidate.

The prime variable in highly competitive searches is the creativity you bring to your cover letter.  One client who worked in an HR Director capacity showed me a cover letter which conveyed the same message many other candidates would.  I challenged her to reach for a more inspirational tone by imaging the style of  Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, to describe herself to a potential employer.

This subtle shift released a flow of creativity that resulted in a new draft being done in a matter of minutes.  A person with initiative can become more creative by simply looking to others they admire for inspiration.

In the book, Transformational Speaking by Gail Larsen, one of the key ways to achieve star quality is by a shift in pacing to wake people up. This can be accomplished verbally and non-verbally, as my client did with her letter. The “verbal punch” you present can mean the difference between landing an interview spot so you will stand the best  chance of winning that coveted position.

Older job candidates also face the challenge of being flexible.  As we brainstormed possibilities, my client was open to interviewing for a part-time position recommended by a respected colleague.

Taking the part-time position may not be necessary though, because my client’s cover letter and resume resulted in her triumphing over a large number of candidates to earn a crucial seat at the interview table.  I’ll keep you posted on the progress of her three -month job search.

As the output of technology and the interactions of communications get speeded up, job candidates run the risk of presenting the same message again and again, resonating the energy of who we think we are and not opening ourselves up to our intuition to expand.

Boost Your Job Search By Making Your Cells Smarter

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

It should not be surprising to learn that our body’s cells are very smart.  In today’s challenging job market, you need to know how to make your smart cells even smarter.  Our cells are imbedded with intent and purpose and when we align that energy it will expand our intuition to help us make better choices with greater confidence and clarity.  We are multi-cellular organisms and are capable of enpowering our cells to create the changes we need in our lives.  Here are three easy steps to create cellular changes to move your life forward:

1. Seek only environments that support your growth and development. The energy we expend in our communities…with our friends, families and associates will either weaken or strengthen us.  The more aware we are of our energy drainers, this will allow us  to make an imperative decision on whether to expand our time with them or limit it.  Analyze the people that surround you and determine what cellular patterns they are creating in your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

2. Focus your energy on what you want to create twice a day. Take the time to write it out on paper.  One friend who I directed on this process is now interviewing for positions that are directly aligned with what she wants to create, after more then a year struggling being unemployed.  She was initially reluctant about being focused at this level, but it became critical to teach her this process because the community we surround ourselves must align our own cellular energy for growth.

3. Create cellular memories that reflect what you want. One of the coolest way to activate your cells is by doing the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) while you are focusing on what you want to create.  Organizing yourself to allow 15-20 minutes each morning and evening to work at this level will have immediate results.  If you’re not familiar with EFT go to http://www.emofree.com

Reinventing The Body, Resurrecting The Soul

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

The future isn’t set in stone, but many of us act like it is and don’t allow ourselves to expand our inner lives in order to reach our true potential.  Deepka Chopra’s new book, Reinventing The Body, Resurrecting The Soul is like being given an inner navigation system for creating the life we desire at our soul level.ReinventingTheBody-2

We don’t often think of our souls as being powerful.  Every moment we are experiencing, the past, present and the future, inside of our soul.  We have the power to choose how we experience our world.  This book provides the blueprint for creating a subtle change in energy to be able to manifest the life we desire.  Chopka explains the powerful process of shifting subtle energy as follows:

1.  Set your intention.

2.  You believe in getting results.

3.  You don’t resist the process of change.

4.  Your body shifts effortlessly at the physical level.

5.  You repeat your subtle action action until you have mastered the change you desire.

Knowing this formula is the difference between dreaming an ideal life and achieving it.  The author says to simply ‘begin where you are and grow through the process.”

Too often we get stuck on everything from a broken heart to not being prosperous enough…we don’t know how to shift. People often waste time expecting someone or something to rescue them.  Chopra’s book is the master recipe for us to cook up a spectacular meal for our life.  I love the beauty and simplicity of his message.  This is book for those who are looking, watching and being aware of the flow of their life.

Three Steps for Taking Care of Your Energetic Health

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Taking care of our energetic health is something many of us  aren’t taught to do in life.  Our hearts, minds, bodies and spirits are filed with the hurts, regrets and mistakes we’ve made in the past.  When we choose to dump the baggage of our emotional suitcases our intuition expands and resonates at a much higher level.  Here are the three steps for taking charge of your energetic health:

The first step is to ask yourself what is draining your energy? Sit down and make a list of the dead weight from the past.  Taking dedicated quiet time for about 15-20 minutes daily to journal for one solid week will reveal vital information.  Each of us are complex individuals with a blend of contrasts–positive and negative.  Framing the past, hurts, regrets from a new perspective is a vital step to being able to move to a different point of view.

The second step is to view these events without judgment or blame. The world we experience is a reflection of the choices we make in our lives.  It’s important to trust that each person’s journey is unique and special.  Reframing your perspective of the past allows you to become clear and open to the future.  If you are having trouble releasing a painful experience an excellent tool to utilize are the website and book, Radical Forgiveness.  The website http://www.radicalforgivness.com offers a powerful way to energetically shift out of whatever issue or problem that is holding you back.  Go to the free tools area and you’ll find a worksheet space to privately express your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

The third step is to ask, “What am I being called to do?” Rarely does life follow a predictable pattern.  Pay attention to what resonates deeply in your heart , mind and soul.

When we become aware of what depletes our energy, release judgment or blame about the past, and trust that our path will be revealed, our intuition expands and will light the way for our highest good to be revealed.

Intuiton: Use It To Heal Your Heart During Emotional Stress

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

The heart is the most important organ in the body.  What we feel deeply in our hearts resonates to all our cells, systems and organs.  When you use your intuition to communicate with your heart it will help you speed up the healing process during times of emotional stress.230px-Heart-and-lungs We’ve all been there.. when something has hurt us so deeply we feel it in our heart.  Maybe, you’ve noticed this emotion recently when viewing the vivid and deeply painful scenes of the earthquake which has devastated Haiti, or the most common experience is when we go through the pain and heartache of a severe emotional wound.

Researchers at John Hopkins in 2005 diagnosed “broken heart syndrome,” as a reversible heart failure that is not a classic heart attack.  High emotional stress was found to be the primary culprit of the symptoms that were produced.  The symptoms include:  heart pain, shortness of breath, and fluid in the lungs.  Middle-aged women are found to the largest segment of the population who suffer from broken heart syndrome.

Recently, a new client came in suffering from a classic case.  This healthy, middle-aged woman practiced yoga and led a healthy lifestyle.  Despite this, it didn’t prevent the severe pain that occurred when a relationship ended.

My client couldn’t sleep at night because of the pounding in her heart.  This can be quite frightening and indeed painful.  In many cases, I’ve also seen people who cannot eat or are nauseated to the point of throwing up.  Once you have ruled out that this is not a heart attack, the treatment course calls for the client to be intricately involved in their healing process.

Communicating directly with your heart it times of stress is one of the most effective ways to heal.  Becoming aware of your heart pain is the first step to working with your body.  Telling your heart that you are listening and believe that the pain you are experiencing is a wake up call concerning whatever challenge or issue you are currently facing.

Placing your hands directly on your heart is a highly effective way to connect with this vital organ.  Breathe deeply and slowly while you are focused on your heart.

Many times, people are ashamed to admit their deep pain, so turning to a professional will allow for support in your process without judgment.  One client who was going through a very painful breakup was told by her mother to “think of her boyfriend as being dead.”  This woman ended up in the emergency room later that same night gasping for breath.

No one can tell you exactly when experiencing broken heart syndrome will be over.  The process you are involved in is a part of something bigger.  It is your intuition alerting you to the need to heal your heart.

Using Your Intuition To Guide You During Divorce

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Divorce is a very painful experience for many people.   The anger, hurt, frustration and sometimes even rage fills our body, mind and spirit to such a high degree that it becomes nearly impossible to listen to your intuition.  Tapping into your inner knowing in our darkest moments, will connect you with the energy of grace which has the power to lift you out of any state of consciousness.

One female client who is struggling through a difficult two-year divorce process, found herself facing her worse fear and experienced what I have come to know as, “the dark night of the soul.”  When a moment like this occurs we usually find ourselves crying uncontrollably and are at a complete loss for all feelings of hope and love.

Paying attention to yourself in the midst of inner anguish is one of the best ways to intuitively shift out of what you are facing. Allow yourself a specific time to be able to cry, scream, beat a pillow, or even rage about what is going on inside of you.  If possible, set a clock and give yourself a deadline on when to stop.

After freely releasing all your emotions, bring yourself back to the present moment by focusing deeply on your breathing. You can immerse yourself in the simple and profound teachings of Thich Nhat Hahn and practice mindful breathing:

In Our

Deep, Slow

Calm, Ease

Smile, Release

Present Moment, Wonderful Moment

The key is to immerse yourself into a feeling of hope.  Pray, read something inspirational, put on music that speaks to your soul.   Be gentle with yourself and if you feel inclined seek professional guidance for the challenges you are facing.

My client in her moment of despair chose to go to bed with her arms wrapped around her Bible.  In describing the experience to me the next day she told me of being intuitively guided to take the book.

Paying attention to the ordinary moments in our lives as well as the extraordinary ones is one of the best ways to use your intuition to shift out of any situation you face.  She awakened with a sense of understanding, enlightenment and wisdom about the changes that must be made in her life.

Our intuition responds most effectively when we give our spirit nourishment.  As we absorb the truths about ourselves and the lessons the moment has revealed, the powerful energy of grace has the ability to lift you in an instant.

Using Your Intuition Is Like Playing a Wii Game

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Life is like an interactive Wii game.  Some days we choose a game that we know will be easy to win.  Other times we get into a competitive mode and swing at everything that comes our way, wanting desperately to win. Just as we imagine ourselves in the crucial moment of  any Wii game, this is the same heightened awareness that we can tap into with our intuition.

We play various games in consciousness…sometimes choosing to be aware other times we let our worries, anxieties and fears dictate the game we play in our lives.  By not thinking about the future, not thinking about the past, just being aware in the present moment, like in the clutch point of a WI basketball game, we are so powerful.

Our availability to the energy level has been proven scientifically.  The Founder of Quantum Theory, Max Planck won a Nobel Prize in 1918 with his revolutionary work proving that there is a matrix of energy that provides the blueprint for our physical world.  Tapping into the matrix is a lot easier then most of us know.

It starts by making dedicated time to focus on what you want in your life.  Ask for guidance and direction first, and then at least twice a day sit down and write out three things that you want to create.  Feel your desires very deeply.  The key is to connect with your emotions.  When we operate at this level we are working with the invisible particles of energy that Max Planck proved with his work.  Change happens in the invisible level.

Once you are focusing on your desires on a consistent basis then you will find it easier for your actions to match what you want to create.

Use Your Intuition To Enpower Yourself In Times of Crisis

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

We learn about people on a lot of different levels.  We find out their likes and dislikes, but it isn’t until they face a crisis that you really get to know them.  It during times of upheaval that turning to our intuition becomes critical in our ability to heal our bodies, minds and spirit.

When we hear a diagnosis about a disease for ourselves or someone we care about, our minds go into an “earthquake mode.”  For a while your brain has problems processing what you are hearing, the options to pursue and how to even organize your life to handle it.

In my earlier blog, on “How to Heal A Soul Wound,” I mentioned a young female client who died from colon cancer after undergoing two severe emotional hurts.  Today I want to give you a formula for creating a new experience for yourself whenever something happens which spins you out-of-control.

After processing the news of whatever situation you are facing, become acutely aware of any or all group feelings of the people who are supporting you.  In the book, Why People Don’t Heal, by Caroline Myss, Ph.D. she calls this the “tribal level.”  She says that how the group absorbs this experience is where most people direct their energy in the time of a health crisis.

Myss like me, urges people to go into the “Individual Mind,” where you move out of fear and despair to seek an inner dialogue with yourself about the issue or problem you are facing.  Try to determine what patterns of strength and weakness that have influenced your life. Innate patterns reveal themselves to show us valuable insights that play a critical role in any healing process.

In my work, I urge people to say and feel deeply the words, “I Will to Live,” when they are in the midst of upheaval.  Myss says in her book to say to yourself a hundred times a day,”The illness is not the issue. The issue is the loss of power this illness generates in my life.”

When we interpret the negative challenges of our lives as a tremendous gift, we realize that we can choose to enpower ourselves by being aware of our patterns and turning to our intuition as a valuable tool  in our healing process.

Recovering From A Soul Wound

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Most of us know when something happens to our heart.  We know if our heart stops beating our life will end.  Yet, we often do not take the time to notice the deep emotional hurts that are held in our hearts until it is too late.  When we use our intuition to consciously check in with our hearts it can enpower us to transform our lives.

In my work as an Intuitive Counselor, I saw my first case of a young woman who died from a soul wound.  The first deep hurt occurred when her husband betrayed her with another woman who worked in the same profession.  My client chose to stay in the same work environment after the divorce.

Sometime later, she met another man and for about a year or so engaged in a relationship.  They traveled and he visited her home and spent time with her daughter.  The man died very suddenly and at this point she found out he was married.  She was unable to attend the funeral and grieved very deeply about this second betrayal.

Anger, and frustration radiated from every level with my client.  She stayed focused on being a “victim,” and wasn’t willing to do the work to change.  Less then a year later, this 46-year-old vibrant woman was diagnosed with colon cancer.  She underwent surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy.  Despite what the death certificate reads I know clearly in my heart that an unhealed soul wound was the root cause of the manifestation of disease.

Each of us does have the power and capacity to change ourselves and transform any situation we are facing.  When we commit ourselves to transforming we must release worries about the past and future.

Being mindful of your thoughts, feelings and emotions is like sharpening a pencil.  We must sharpen our awareness so that we can make decision to change when our soul becomes wounded.
