Why Using Your Intuition to Control Anger Is Important

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Emotions flow through us like water. Until we consciously become aware of our feelings it is easy to let them get out-of-control. The most damaging emotion is anger. The best way to become aware of this disruptive energy is to practice emotional hygiene. This means we must consciously choose to “clean up” our energy field when we find it resonating an experience that we don’t want to create in our lives.

Our feelings are all around us and are difficult to control, but gaining this ability has the power to transform and accelerate healing in all areas of your life. In my work as an Intuitive Counselor and Coach, my clients suffer from anger over everything from relationships breakups, mistreatment by their parents to not having achieved their potential. Regardless of the experience, the lesson is always the same, when we recognize our internal boiling point, we have the ability to control the outcome.

Sometime ago while walking with my husband we were debating a number of issues in our relationship. I became so engrossed in our conversation that suddenly a small barking dog appeared at my feet. The dog’s owner quickly answered my question about it’s arrival and told me, “it is barking like you are.” Within an instant my level of anger rose to the point where we exchanged some very heated words. Suddenly we were waving fingers, saying things that could have resulted in physical violence.

In a moment of clarity, I became consciously aware of the danger and choose to disconnect from the experience. This is where practicing emotional hygiene becomes so powerful, because each of us moment by moment can choose to create to change anything we want. After expressing to the woman my desire for “peace,” and a willingness to accept blame for the anger outburst, I choose to consciously disconnect and started to walk away.

My reaction was met with a great deal of resistance from the woman, and she continued to follow us. With her yelling behind me, I willed my mind, body and spirit to focus on peace and love. Covering us both with a protective layer of white light, we resumed our walk and the woman at some point disappeared.

This experience served as a vital lesson for my work with my clients. Teaching people to be intuitively aware of their feelings allows us to collect the data that is needed to change any circumstance we face in our lives. This capacity is vital to understanding our choices, options and alternatives to achieving a prosperous, healthy and long life.

The book, Infinite Mind by Dr. Valerie Hunt is one of the first truly scientific understanding of the relationship between energy field disturbances, disease and emotional pathologies. Best known for her pioneering research in the field of bioenergy, Dr. Hunt’s visionary approach coupled with a rigorous adherence to the highest scientific standards has won her international acclaim in the fields of physiology, medicine and bioengineering.

Each of us has the capacity to recognize the emotion of anger and to control it. If you observe yourself being angry and allow yourself to step back intuitively, this will give you the power to make a different choice.

Expand Your Intuition Through Your Subconscious Mind

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

It’s easy to find yourself in a rut!  Maybe, you are  having trouble coming up with ideas for your blog, or finding a job, getting a relationship to work, or even getting yourself to turn off the computer and clean the house…the answer might be as simple as turning to your intuition for help.   Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, Goodbye, Excuses, gives a simple method on how to make it happen.

Dyer explains that our brain operates like a computer.  It stores our thoughts, feelings and emotions in the databank of our subconscious mind.  Since 90% of our activities are governed by the subconscious mind, he suggests we work with the brain. .

Getting the subconscious mind to pay attention is so easy!   He suggests that you tell your subconscious mind that you know it’s accustomed to being in control, but now you have taken charge.

I tried this with my own subconscious mind after experiencing a long drought in getting my blog out.  First, I quieted my mind and did a 10-minute meditation with the intent to communicate with my subconscious mind.  Dyer’s directions even include you visualizing talking to your subconscious mind.  This is where my love for Star Trek came in…I saw a small hologram of my face just to the right of my head.  I told my subconscious brain exactly what Dr. Dyer said and then directed  to give me the creativity and discipline to get my blog done on a regular basis.

The one thing I added that Dr. Dyer didn’t have is that mine ended with my “thanking my subconscious mind for listening and my desire for us to work together everyday so that I will reach the true potential for my life.”

In the book, A Whole New Mind, Daniel Pink he says we are moving out of an information age and into a conceptual age.  We all need to have knowledge that cannot be outsourced to India or Asia.  Training yourself to work with your subconscious mind enhances and expands your intuition to create the life you want.  Pink says this is the changing landscape of the future.

Creating and Receiving Miracles

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

A few weeks ago I showed you how to believe in miracles. This week, I want to tell you about one of the most powerful lessons that I have learned about miracles. That is the ability to create and participate in miracles.

No person creates a miracle alone. To align with this ability you must firmly ground yourself in the unwavering belief in the Power of your Source. God may be the whole which provides miracles but you create the space within yourself to receive it.

Many people don’t realize they have the ability to create their own miracles. This blog is dedicated to sharing with you some of the most intimate revelations that have been revealed to me in numerous meditations and readings.

Here are the four vital steps which will turn on your spiritual faucet to create your dreams and desires.

Command a miracle – At the first sign of a problem or crisis go into silence, and connect with your mind and heart and declare, “I need a miracle.” That’s right, no begging, pleading bargaining or negotiating. The good Lord appreciates it when we claim our gifts without hesitation or fear. To work at this level, your spiritual faucet must be turned on at all times. Commanding is the way to evoke a catalyst for spiritual change in your life.

Be specific – Don’t dilute your message with a lot of if’s, and’s, or but’s. Developing your spiritual muscle occurs when we become so clear and focused on our needs that we believe nothing can stop us.

It has always amazed me that there have been times in which my prayers are immediately answered and others that never manifest. In one very intimate conversation with God I asked, “Why does it seem some of my prayers manifest immediately while others hang in the Universe never coming to fruition?”

What came back was so simple that trying it had such immediate results that I feel compelled to share the insight with you. Intuitively I connected and heard the following, “It is the vibration of the words you use that attracts what we need.”

You know, of course, that I then had to ask specifically what words should we use to create or manifest our desires at the highest level? Take a moment to write down these three phrases and memorize them in your heart and mind: I Create, I Will, or I Am are the words my spiritual insight directed me to say in front of whatever I wanted to attract into my life.

For the last several years, my self-study has consisted developing a formula that normally is only given to my clients, today I’ll share it with you. The first sentence (used with one of the three phrases) should clearly state your need. It should be followed by a second sentence that enthusiastically describes how you will feel when your dream is achieved. Experience the feeling of the words so deeply that you allow yourself to visualize your miracle on every level.

My skin started to tingle the first time I used these phrases with this formula. Try this for a period of one month, dedicating as much time as possible to repeating them to the point where they become your soul’s song.

Always practice gratitude - My meditation practice begins with a running list of everything that exists in my life that demonstrates God’s overwhelming gifts to me. I allow my spirit to be touched by each moment or time in my life in which I feel grateful. Sometimes the list is like an unconscious song in my head, it starts to automatically present itself as soon as I begin my meditation. There is no right or wrong ways to do this, just simply begin with what you appreciate in your life.

Be willing to participate in miracles for others – All of us have times in life in which we have the opportunity to decide to help another. Many times, we let a synchronistic moment slip by not realizing the interconnectivity of the Universe is working on every level. It is willingness to give to others that is the strongest conduit for attracting miracles.

During a very turbulent period after my dear mother died and I found myself unable to determine my life path, I called out to God while driving my list of needs. What came back was, “You told me what you want but what are you willing to give?” Pondering on that insight, I turned the corner and found myself staring at a church I’ve seen many times on my way home. This day was different though and I parked my car and went inside to find out how I could help. Since then I am regular volunteer every 6 weeks to help feed the homeless.

Things change for me in an instant after that, but the message was clear if you want to receive you have to be willing to give. Before I knew it the period had been transformed and clients started coming in to see me without any effort on my part, followed by my being paid to create custom presentations for organizations and corporations.

One of the newest books I’ve read that gives highly vivid and descriptive examples of synchronicity, destiny and meaning is by Louise L. Hay, The Times of Our Lives [Buy it here]. For those who struggle to read a whole book, each short chapter is a separate story on someone who has moved their life forward. Some have suffered through bad marriages, low self esteem, physical and emotional abuse. Each story is unique and after three pages I found my soul would be uplifted with the message it conveyed. By the way, I got my copy at the library, so if you don’t have a card get one it is one of the best kept bargains around these days. Remember, change happens at the invisible level.

P.S. One of the miracles I want to create is to expand my list of people who receive and read Sheree’s Tips & Blog to more than 1000! Every morning in my meditation the Good Lord tells me to write and I figure if more people are reading it then another miracle will unfold in my life.

Spiritual Shift: Changing Faith

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Faith is changing.

A new poll shows that 44% of Americans have chosen either to change their religious affiliation or abandoned going to church altogether.

The U.S. Religious Landscape Survey interviewed 35,000 people to snapshot a revealing photo of American religious habits. This insightful report demonstrates that churches today are going to have to pay attention to these changing patterns.

The poll shows the major Christian denominations are losing numbers fast. Non-denominational churches are the only ones that showed growth. The expansion of Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are directly connected to immigration, conversion, workplaces and school. Two in three people who grew up Jehovah’s Witnesses are also leaving their faith.

Not shown in the report is the percentage of people who pray or believe in God. Perhaps today’s religious outlook will be more like a self-study program with people creating their own spiritual learning format.

One has only to look at the recent popularity of the Web site class Oprah is teaching on Eckert Tolle’s book, A New Earth Awakening To Your Life’s Purpose, to know that people are eager to embrace a spiritual path that is outside of the traditional format.

Prayer is an important part of Western culture that is not restricted to particular denomination. We dance with God when we reflect our innermost needs and desires regardless of our religious denomination.

For many people the most powerful belief is belief in God. For the last 40 years, Gallup Poll results have shown that 95% of people believe in God. Spiritual strength is sought by many to overcome life’s circumstances.

There is enormous research which demonstrates the power of the human belief system. The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggert reveals startling scientific data which shows the impact of intention on everything from the growth of a plant to reducing cancer cells in controlled environments.

Self-study spirituality is the wave of the future. Churches that understand and embrace this concept will expand. Those who don’t will reflect the diminishing pulpit size that this report reveals. People are no longer willing to accept a paint-by-number plan that most religions have taught.

Unblocking Inner Wisdom

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

There are many things that we clutter our minds with that diminish our ability to connect with our intuition. One of the biggest challenges in unblocking our inner wisdom is when we practice sympathy, and not empathy, when it comes to other people’s problems.

The difference between empathy and sympathy has a big impact on everything from our wellness to our ability to manifest our desires.

Oftentimes, we get into sympathy with people that we love and before you know it, you become intricately involved in their problems to the extent where you end up worrying about their issues.

When we are empathetic, it is possible to step back and see the life journey another person is facing without getting so involved. You can pray for others, offer your insights and suggestions, but it is critically important that each of us knows how to separate ourselves from another’s life experience.

This lesson was revealed to me in a big way when a female client came in to see me about a year after her mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. As with all people who allow me to participate in their life journey, I had prayed for her along the way. Even though we had not seen each other since our initial visit, it took me only a couple of minutes to sense that the life force of the mother had passed and that while expressing my condolences I was taken by surprise to sense that the young 40-year-old woman seated in front of me was now ill.

When I questioned her on this she told me without hesitation that “she now had breast cancer.” Before even processing the information deeply I asked her simply, “What had you been thinking when your mother was ill?” She told me she, “Kept wishing it was her.”

We must be careful on this life journey to allow others to experience their challenges without allowing ourselves to take in another person’s burdens. Each of us is meant to walk this life’s journey and grow and evolve in our own life challenges. Taking on another’s life experience does not allow us to expand our consciousness.

Reinvent Your Life

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Few people have awakened to what life really holds for them. Each of us has the ability to express from our own life center directed purpose to change our lives. Learning the technique for reinvention will allow you to set the course for whatever you want to achieve.

First, you must become aware of the possibilities that life has to offer. Start by making time for prayer and meditation on a consistent basis. Even as few as 10 minutes per day, twice daily will have an effect on your ability to quiet the chaos in your mind. Allowing time to connect with your spiritual essence will create ideas that will gestate and grow in your mind.

Connecting with your inner presence will set the foundation for asking yourself critical questions such as: What is my life purpose? What can I change now to achieve my true potential? Keep a
pen and pad handy to jot down whatever insights are revealed. Even if the information does not come through immediately, dedicated intent will make all the difference in allowing your spiritual
essence to reveal your life plan.

The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggert provides the revolutionary scientific data to support the power of intention and the impact it has on our lives. Set the intention that you want
to change and fully commit your will to the process.

Mind, body, connection is so strong that your conception of the changes you desire need to become visible in your mind’s eye. Create a vision board that reflects your future life. Divide it into specific categories such as: health, wealth, family and spirit. Gaze upon this board at least three times per day.

The ability to expand your mind is most effective when we work with programming the subconscious mind. Make a recording of the things that you want to manifest in your life. Affirm these things in the most positive language possible. Listen to this recording, especially at night right before you fall asleep.

Identify three specific area that you want to set your intent and focus for the next 30 days. Write them with clear and concise language and begin each line with: I Have, I Create and I Am.

Focused intention on the three specific areas will give you concrete evidence of the power of your intention.

Be true to your vision. There cannot be hesitation, worry or fear that your changes you desire will manifest. Every idea, word and thought must be true to your vision.

Concentration of will is the strongest power we have available to our ability to expand our consciousness. The will to serve turns the life flow current on to a heightened awareness of accessing inner knowing. The dedicated commitment to serve gives purpose to your vision and accelerates the universal flow in connecting to your need.

As things start to assume the true position in your life, be grateful.

Have You Forgotten to Pay One of Your Bills?

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Everywhere we turn someone is talking about debt. There are all kinds of bills we need to concern ourselves with in order to ensure the quality of our lives.

Of course, you must focus on paying your mortgage or rent first to ensure having a roof over your head. And during the winter months, especially, all of us are concerned with keeping warm.

Then there are the creature comfort bills that we find impossible to live without, such as getting our hair done, or our cell phone and cable bills.

But, there is another kind of debt that most of us don’t think about, but it is accruing a much higher interest rate in our lives. That is the emotional debt that many of us are carrying around from our past hurts, resentments and anger. This very subtle debt, which won’t appear on your financial statement, but clearing it up will make a difference in helping you reach your true potential.

When a client comes to see me and starts talking about all the bills they have to pay, my mind immediately clicks into the awareness that they haven’t told me there is “more to the story.”

To me, financial debts in life are easier to pay because they have a beginning and an end. It is the emotional debts that we don’t know when they will occur or how long it will take us to internally clear up whatever we are facing.

Developing a daily and consistent spiritual practice is the best way to prepare yourself to pay for whatever challenges occur in your life. Even a small commitment– such as 10 minutes a day–can make a big difference in your having the internal resources to cover whatever comes up in life.

By taking the time to create your own custom meditation you will allow yourself to identify whatever problem areas have been stored in your heart and soul. Whatever spiritual practice you choose, be consistent. We train our brains when we do the same thing at the same time each day.

The reason why meditation is a vital part of any effective plan to heal emotional pain is that it allows you to exist in a cosmic consciousness with God. You can present any and all of your needs and be assured that the call you are placing won’t be dropped and it will have clear reception.

Seeking alternative treatment is also a very effective way to remove emotional pain from the body. Acupuncture has found to be a way to treat depression. And you can it make more budget friendly by seeking treatment at a school. Most people associate acupuncture in dealing with physical pain but in the privacy of your treatment course you can tell your practitioner what deep hurts need to be cleaned out and they can needle the appropriate spots to speed up the process.

That’s the real secret in life: to heal your emotional debt in less time and with less stress so we can go out and live the life we want.

I’ve created a free meditation video just for you. Go to http://www.ShereeFranklin.com and click video to listen and expand your consciousness.

Surving the Holidays with Emotional Pain

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

My grandmother used to say, “The holidays come and go and take a lot of people with them.”

For a long time, I used to think those were “just words,” until the keen insight this statement revealed about our life experiences struck me personally.

One of my biggest life lessons happened eight years ago, when my dad passed very suddenly just fifteen days before Christmas. My mom’s phone call alerting me of his death is still etched in my heart and mind. From time to time, the memory resurfaces triggered by a variety of sensory experiences that we all get exposed to in our everyday life.

We all know the cardinal rule: we are born and one day we will die. If this happens during the holiday season, we must work to expand our consciousness, by choosing to grow through the pain of loss.

Everything that is happening to us is being absorbed on both the conscious and subconscious levels. When we become aware of all the many levels in life it helps us better understand the grieving process. Knowing what triggers our depression, or emotional pain, gives us the ability to become more powerful in our lives.

For many people, the holidays can be extremely painful as we remember not only those we have lost, but also how the life we may have wished for didn’t turn out.

We must remember that we live in a free-will planet and you must decide to either be a volunteer or a draftee in dealing with whatever pain you are facing. When you choose to be a volunteer you become open and receptive to the growth an experience offers. As a draftee, many people go through pain, literally, kicking and screaming, not wanting to change or even accept circumstances they cannot control.

Celine Dion’s song, Because You Loved Me, still connects with the inner layer of pain around my heart concerning my dad’s death. That song played at his funeral, and hearing it some eight years later, can still throw me into emotional pain if I am not extremely careful.

Once while donating blood, the song was playing in a room filled with volunteers like me who were hooked up to IVs. The technician monitoring my blood withdrawal looked shocked when she saw I was softly crying. Knowing about the emotional trigger of this song, gave me the insight to not only accept, but even acknowledge, the process to her. I made a conscious choice to relax and decided that my giving blood at this time was no accident, it reminded me of one of God’s greatest gifts—our ability to give and receive love.
