Intuiton: Use It To Heal Your Heart During Emotional Stress

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

The heart is the most important organ in the body.  What we feel deeply in our hearts resonates to all our cells, systems and organs.  When you use your intuition to communicate with your heart it will help you speed up the healing process during times of emotional stress.230px-Heart-and-lungs We’ve all been there.. when something has hurt us so deeply we feel it in our heart.  Maybe, you’ve noticed this emotion recently when viewing the vivid and deeply painful scenes of the earthquake which has devastated Haiti, or the most common experience is when we go through the pain and heartache of a severe emotional wound.

Researchers at John Hopkins in 2005 diagnosed “broken heart syndrome,” as a reversible heart failure that is not a classic heart attack.  High emotional stress was found to be the primary culprit of the symptoms that were produced.  The symptoms include:  heart pain, shortness of breath, and fluid in the lungs.  Middle-aged women are found to the largest segment of the population who suffer from broken heart syndrome.

Recently, a new client came in suffering from a classic case.  This healthy, middle-aged woman practiced yoga and led a healthy lifestyle.  Despite this, it didn’t prevent the severe pain that occurred when a relationship ended.

My client couldn’t sleep at night because of the pounding in her heart.  This can be quite frightening and indeed painful.  In many cases, I’ve also seen people who cannot eat or are nauseated to the point of throwing up.  Once you have ruled out that this is not a heart attack, the treatment course calls for the client to be intricately involved in their healing process.

Communicating directly with your heart it times of stress is one of the most effective ways to heal.  Becoming aware of your heart pain is the first step to working with your body.  Telling your heart that you are listening and believe that the pain you are experiencing is a wake up call concerning whatever challenge or issue you are currently facing.

Placing your hands directly on your heart is a highly effective way to connect with this vital organ.  Breathe deeply and slowly while you are focused on your heart.

Many times, people are ashamed to admit their deep pain, so turning to a professional will allow for support in your process without judgment.  One client who was going through a very painful breakup was told by her mother to “think of her boyfriend as being dead.”  This woman ended up in the emergency room later that same night gasping for breath.

No one can tell you exactly when experiencing broken heart syndrome will be over.  The process you are involved in is a part of something bigger.  It is your intuition alerting you to the need to heal your heart.

Can we use our intuition to overcome fear?

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

Many people are feeling the emotion of  fear on  a regular basis.  A soaring unemployment rate of 9.7% has everyone worrying and wondering about the right risks to take in their daily lives.  One of the most effective ways to thrive in this challenging period is by combining your intuition with analytical thinking to help you:  recognize patterns, uncover hidden clues and make bold leaps of imagination.

The key is knowing the right questions to ask yourself and paying attention to the internal clues that come up when you answer them.  A new book, Take the Risk, by Dr. Ben Carson, a world renown neurosurgeon, gives one of the most precise and detailed examples for helping you overcome fear.

This book details Dr. Carson’s Best/Worse Analysis formula as follows:

  • What is the best thing that can happen if I do this?
  • What is the worse thing that can happen if I do this?
  • What is the best thing that can happen if I don’t do it?
  • What is the worse thing that can happen if don’t do it?

You’re probably looking at the questions, shaking your head, and thinking, Will this work for me?  Even if after answering the questions you don’t have a positive outcome, doing this exercise is like getting a front end  alignment for your car..  After you do it, less of the bumps show up in your life journey.  Your conscious mind and your intuition will combine to help you start to feel and think more clearly about your choices.

To thrive in this challenging marketplace, individuals and organizations must expand our well-developed high tech abilities with our conscious awareness on how to take risks.  Our ability to use our intuition is the only thing that differentiates us from every other creature in the world.

Creating and Receiving Miracles

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

A few weeks ago I showed you how to believe in miracles. This week, I want to tell you about one of the most powerful lessons that I have learned about miracles. That is the ability to create and participate in miracles.

No person creates a miracle alone. To align with this ability you must firmly ground yourself in the unwavering belief in the Power of your Source. God may be the whole which provides miracles but you create the space within yourself to receive it.

Many people don’t realize they have the ability to create their own miracles. This blog is dedicated to sharing with you some of the most intimate revelations that have been revealed to me in numerous meditations and readings.

Here are the four vital steps which will turn on your spiritual faucet to create your dreams and desires.

Command a miracle – At the first sign of a problem or crisis go into silence, and connect with your mind and heart and declare, “I need a miracle.” That’s right, no begging, pleading bargaining or negotiating. The good Lord appreciates it when we claim our gifts without hesitation or fear. To work at this level, your spiritual faucet must be turned on at all times. Commanding is the way to evoke a catalyst for spiritual change in your life.

Be specific – Don’t dilute your message with a lot of if’s, and’s, or but’s. Developing your spiritual muscle occurs when we become so clear and focused on our needs that we believe nothing can stop us.

It has always amazed me that there have been times in which my prayers are immediately answered and others that never manifest. In one very intimate conversation with God I asked, “Why does it seem some of my prayers manifest immediately while others hang in the Universe never coming to fruition?”

What came back was so simple that trying it had such immediate results that I feel compelled to share the insight with you. Intuitively I connected and heard the following, “It is the vibration of the words you use that attracts what we need.”

You know, of course, that I then had to ask specifically what words should we use to create or manifest our desires at the highest level? Take a moment to write down these three phrases and memorize them in your heart and mind: I Create, I Will, or I Am are the words my spiritual insight directed me to say in front of whatever I wanted to attract into my life.

For the last several years, my self-study has consisted developing a formula that normally is only given to my clients, today I’ll share it with you. The first sentence (used with one of the three phrases) should clearly state your need. It should be followed by a second sentence that enthusiastically describes how you will feel when your dream is achieved. Experience the feeling of the words so deeply that you allow yourself to visualize your miracle on every level.

My skin started to tingle the first time I used these phrases with this formula. Try this for a period of one month, dedicating as much time as possible to repeating them to the point where they become your soul’s song.

Always practice gratitude - My meditation practice begins with a running list of everything that exists in my life that demonstrates God’s overwhelming gifts to me. I allow my spirit to be touched by each moment or time in my life in which I feel grateful. Sometimes the list is like an unconscious song in my head, it starts to automatically present itself as soon as I begin my meditation. There is no right or wrong ways to do this, just simply begin with what you appreciate in your life.

Be willing to participate in miracles for others – All of us have times in life in which we have the opportunity to decide to help another. Many times, we let a synchronistic moment slip by not realizing the interconnectivity of the Universe is working on every level. It is willingness to give to others that is the strongest conduit for attracting miracles.

During a very turbulent period after my dear mother died and I found myself unable to determine my life path, I called out to God while driving my list of needs. What came back was, “You told me what you want but what are you willing to give?” Pondering on that insight, I turned the corner and found myself staring at a church I’ve seen many times on my way home. This day was different though and I parked my car and went inside to find out how I could help. Since then I am regular volunteer every 6 weeks to help feed the homeless.

Things change for me in an instant after that, but the message was clear if you want to receive you have to be willing to give. Before I knew it the period had been transformed and clients started coming in to see me without any effort on my part, followed by my being paid to create custom presentations for organizations and corporations.

One of the newest books I’ve read that gives highly vivid and descriptive examples of synchronicity, destiny and meaning is by Louise L. Hay, The Times of Our Lives [Buy it here]. For those who struggle to read a whole book, each short chapter is a separate story on someone who has moved their life forward. Some have suffered through bad marriages, low self esteem, physical and emotional abuse. Each story is unique and after three pages I found my soul would be uplifted with the message it conveyed. By the way, I got my copy at the library, so if you don’t have a card get one it is one of the best kept bargains around these days. Remember, change happens at the invisible level.

P.S. One of the miracles I want to create is to expand my list of people who receive and read Sheree’s Tips & Blog to more than 1000! Every morning in my meditation the Good Lord tells me to write and I figure if more people are reading it then another miracle will unfold in my life.

Being able to have the first article I’ve submitted published in Ebony magazine this past February, is a just hint of what God wants for me. Spiritual Shift: Changing Faith

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Faith is changing.

A new poll shows that 44% of Americans have chosen either to change their religious affiliation or abandoned going to church altogether.

The U.S. Religious Landscape Survey interviewed 35,000 people to snapshot a revealing photo of American religious habits. This insightful report demonstrates that churches today are going to have to pay attention to these changing patterns.

The poll shows the major Christian denominations are losing numbers fast. Non-denominational churches are the only ones that showed growth. The expansion of Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are directly connected to immigration, conversion, workplaces and school. Two in three people who grew up Jehovah’s Witnesses are also leaving their faith.

Not shown in the report is the percentage of people who pray or believe in God. Perhaps today’s religious outlook will be more like a self-study program with people creating their own spiritual learning format.

One has only to look at the recent popularity of the Web site class Oprah is teaching on Eckert Tolle’s book, A New Earth Awakening To Your Life’s Purpose, to know that people are eager to embrace a spiritual path that is outside of the traditional format.

Prayer is an important part of Western culture that is not restricted to particular denomination. We dance with God when we reflect our innermost needs and desires regardless of our religious denomination.

For many people the most powerful belief is belief in God. For the last 40 years, Gallup Poll results have shown that 95% of people believe in God. Spiritual strength is sought by many to overcome life’s circumstances.

There is enormous research which demonstrates the power of the human belief system. The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggert reveals startling scientific data which shows the impact of intention on everything from the growth of a plant to reducing cancer cells in controlled environments.

Self-study spirituality is the wave of the future. Churches that understand and embrace this concept will expand. Those who don’t will reflect the diminishing pulpit size that this report reveals. People are no longer willing to accept a paint-by-number plan that most religions have taught.

Awaken Your Intuition

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

The popularity of the television programs the Ghost Whisperer and Medium has more people thinking about ways to expand their intuitive abilities. Most of us weren’t born with the special gifts those characters portray, but each of us has an innate ability to connect with our inner knowing.

Developing this tool will help you make better decisions, determine when something is wrong or right for you or even who to trust. Clearing the chaos in your mind is the first step to being able to connect with your inner consciousness.  It begins with making consistent time for silence. Our society does not condition people to be in complete silence, so your first attempt may feel like it went on for eternity.

Set short time periods that are realistic, rather then attempting to become a master mediator on the first day.

Deep breathing exercises is one of the best ways to become relaxed. Guided meditation CDs are a good way to get started. One meditation CD which has a book to offer instructions is Getting in the Gap by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Once you start to connect with your inner knowing you can ask yourself questions. They could be as simple as what route to take to work, or characteristics or traits about a person that you don’t know. Play with it, test yourself and you’ll find that exercising your muscle of inner knowing will get stronger. Accessing your intuition and trusting it is like sharpening a pencil.

Connecting with your intuition allows us to feel powerful and more trusting of ourselves. How many times have you beat yourself up over not following what you knew all along? Practicing with your intuition on a daily basis gives you a powerful tool to use in all areas of your life!

Train Your Brain Like an Athlete

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

How does an athlete know how to be at the exact spot where their opponent’s ball lands? Experts will tell you it has to do with conditioning and training. Those are critical skills to developing any kind of success, but research is now showing that your ability to tap into implicit memory plays a big part in being able to craft and create the destiny of your life. It might even provide you with insight you weren’t aware was happening.

A couple of weeks ago I was on a very crowded Chicago Transit Authority Bus at rush hour. The bus was so packed that I found myself barely able to squeeze into the front area surrounding the driver. To me, being near the driver always made me feel safer, but that wasn’t the case this particular cold, and windy February night.

The wind off Lake Michigan practically pushing me down the street to catch the northbound 151 bus. As soon as I put my transit card through a bad feeling came over me. Since crowds are one of my least favorite environments to be in, I pushed the feeling aside and hung on for my very short 15 minute ride home.

In less than 5 minutes into that ride I felt a tug on my purse. That’s right, in a flash someone had already pulled back the zipper on my bag and helped themselves to my wallet containing $100!

Needless to say, I wanted to scream—but scream at whom? Every face I looked into appeared impassive and indifferent. I shook my head in disbelief and got off the bus with the clear insight that riding the bus again without recognizing my inner awareness would never happen again.

But remember, intuition is my thing. Hadn’t I paid close attention when my good friend, Judy mentioned that most of the time we carry around too much stuff in our wallets? While we were on the phone, I took this helpful comment to heart and took things out of my purse and wallet that were unnecessary and would have resulted in a harder impact when my wallet was stolen.

Even knowing I had taken that step only a couple of days before, didn’t help to change the feeling of outrage over the fact that someone could act so callously against me or anyone else.

As I explained my feelings to my CPA husband, he surprised me by taking a step out of his usual financial, left brain mode and asked me a critical question. “Can you remember everyone that was around you?”

Remember, the bus was extremely crowded, but I distinctly remembered three men surrounding me. I went through a description of each one with him: an Asian man in a suit, a black male who looked like he was on his way to work with a garment bag on his arm, and a nondescript white man.

Without hesitation my husband told me, “The brother got you.” I refused to believe it, telling him that the black man looked like he worked in a restaurant or as a doorman with a clean, crisp white shirt and his hair was immaculate.

My husband asked me if he exited the bus before me. When I confirmed it, he told the person who has committed a crime usually wants to get away fast, because they don’t know if you will notice the missing item. I should mention that my husband grew from a working class family in Baltimore to grow into a well-respected businessman.

Because of the details he guided me into recalling, my intuition kicked in when I encountered one of the guys from that fateful bus just two weeks later. This time this well-groomed mid- to late-thirties black young man got off the same northbound 151 and crossed the street and waited for the same bus only going southbound this time with me.

I went into my memory and recalled the details from the day of my fateful bus ride from two weeks before. Again, he was wearing a white crisp shirt this time I noted black embroidery around the collar, dark pants and a garment bag over his arm. Again, his hair and grooming were immaculate. I took in his height and my sixth sense had already started to send me verbal clues, “Watch him, my mind said but don’t get too close.” I got on the bus first and allowed myself to be intuitively guided to the right seat. This bus heading downtown wasn’t packed like the one earlier, and I knew if he was the same guy, he would have to be selective on choosing a victim. Even while behind me, I made my intuition focus in on him. He stood at the exit doors immediately to the rear of my seat and with my intuition on heighted awareness, I knew without looking when he made a move to sit down.

While watching him I also very casually looked at the other people on the bus and identified who would be an easy mark coming down the aisle. It was amazing to note that I counted at least two women with their wallets in their hands very casually dumping it back into their purse. Each of these people weren’t seated anywhere near where the guy was standing. Then my mind got laser-focused and I concentrated on a white female in her mid-40s with a knee-length mink coat sitting on a vertical bench near the exit door where my guy was standing.

The guy sat down and appeared to be very intent on counting money from his wallet. I watched him taking in his bench companion as she went back and forth through her large bag and then carefully zipped things back up. Even with this careful action, the guy didn’t get dissuaded he stayed focused on the woman and even got to the point where he stretched his arm across the empty seat between them.

With my newspaper up and hat down I was carefully taking all this in and knew he would make a move very soon. I put the newspaper down and pointed to the woman asking her to come sit in the empty seat by me. Without hesitating she grabbed her bag and came over. I whispered my concerns and then the next thing you knew the guy immediately exited the bus.

The lady told me that she was about to take a trip and would have been “bad off,” if her things would have been stolen.” She called me “her angel,” and thanked me for saying something before it was too late.

Each of us has the capacity to connect into our inner knowing but when it comes up (like me on the fateful bus where my wallet was stolen) we push the feeling aside for all sorts of reasons.

Just as athlete knows where to be in the exact spot of the court when a ball falls, you can live your life intuitively and it will help you train for the greatest performance in your life—the ability to guide and direct your life safely.

Your intuition is there for you to listen and heed. This is how it gets stronger and it could mean the difference between your wallet getting stolen and your ability to be an angel to someone you don’t even know.
